Learning culture before, during and after a visit
A craft activity can create questions about techniques, work, exchange and identity, rather than simply a shopping stop.
Editorial draft. Content under review; it does not describe a departure or a contracted service.
Before the activity
Prepare a short glossary of materials and tools, images to observe and questions to ask with support. A teacher or language collaborator should review vocabulary in the learning language.
During the visit
Observe the process, ask permission before photographing and ask the maker how they describe their technique. This does not imply a workshop is booked or that an interpreter will not be needed.
Afterwards: understand, not just remember
Collect words, sketches and observations, separating what you saw from what still needs checking. Reflection connects the cultural activity to the learning goal. This is an example of methodology, not a destination offer.
